Tumwater Fire Department Interaction with Homeless Population/ <br />Response Safety to Encampment & Community Resources <br />2) Recommended Action: <br />No action required, this item is informational only. <br />3) Background: <br />The Council's Housing Action Plan contains an action that reads, "Review, and <br />clarify as necessary, policies related to homelessness for first responders." A <br />work group was formed between the City Administrator, City Attorney, Police <br />Chief and Fire Chief. In 2010, the Police Department developed and initiated <br />Policy 560 Emergent Detentions (Attachment B); and in 2011, developed and <br />initiated Policy 445 Homeless Persons (Attachment A). In 2018, the Fire <br />Department developed the Tumwater Fire Department Interaction with <br />Homeless Population/Response Safety to Encampment & Community <br />Resources draft document (Attachment C).
