AGENDA ITEM NO. 6d
MEETING DATE: February 5, 2019

TO: City Council

FROM: John Doan, City Administrator

SUBJECT: Service Provider Agreement with Family Support Center of South Sound

1) Attachments:

A. Draft Service Agreement

2) Recommended Action:

Authorize the Mayor to sign the Service Provider Agreement with the Family
Support Center of South Sound for the provision of coordinated entry services
for homeless single adults in the amount of $12,500.

3) Background:

Coordinated Entry is a mandated and desirable program to coordinate the
entry of homeless individuals into services. The overall coordinated entry
system is managed by the Family Support Center in addition to their
provision of services to families. Community Youth Services provides services
to youth and Sidewalk provides services to single adults, as subcontractors to
the Family Support Center. Sidewalk has expressed the need to have
additional funding during 2019 until future funding streams can be
developed. The proposed funding amount is based on a proportionate share of
the total request of $40,000 to be shared between Olympia and Tumwater.
th
Olympia will be discussing their contribution on February 5. This
agreement requires Sidewalk to complete a financial audit.

4) Alternatives:

 Do not provide funding.
 Fund a different amount.

5) Fiscal Notes:

There is $25,000 remaining, undesignated, in the biennial budget for housing
and homeless services. This would leave $12,500 in the fund.
